Just back from London and from what, essentially has been my first total day dedicated to bookish behaviour.
I took the day off from the main job today – had to, there was just so much to sort out and so much to do.
I met with some great fellow bloggers – loads of ’em – and some looked nothing like their avatars at all.
I attended a fantastic blogger event at Simon & Schuster’s offices, with discussion/Q&A with seven of their top authors.
Then, having to leave there early – before the drinks, nibbles and bookish gifts – to dash over to Covent Garden for the second event of the day.
The launch of the Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival (Harrogate) in my new role as blogger-in-residence, to meet a lot of the authors and teams behind them. Once again I had to leave a little earlier to get around the corner to Goldsboro Books.
The third and final event of the evening was a launch party for the excellent new David Hewson novel The Fallen Angel – again attended by authors, publishers, publicists, agents and bloggers.
It’s been a very long but incredibly rewarding day.
Tomorrow (make that today!) it’s back to the day job – just got this feeling it won’t be anywhere as much fun or rewarding…
Fuller posts will follow in due course.
For now…some sleep.
